Cat IIIA

OK, here we have a CAT IIIA landing.  Dual channel autopilot.  Well the weather is offcourse not CAT IIIA ;-)  It is filmed while using track IR.  Video is raw un-edited except for compression.  So quality is reduced quite a bit.  Also turned out a bit brighter than the original - but you get the idea.  Pretty smooth..

And as usual, don't look too closely at the visuals, they are all work in progress.

If you have problems viewing the video, here is a direct link CAT IIIa video

    Hi everyone,

just a couple comments to this vid I took:

Obviously a lot of things 3D-wise are still missing. While I wish one could view the runway from underneath the glareshield in the real plane, it is actually some geometry missing there :-)

Also you might notice the thrust levers jumping forward at the very end. This happens because the autothrottle reverts to "OFF" 2 seconds after touchdown and my joystick wasn´t at idle. This is an old hardware-interface-problem, we will see how it can be resolved.

The colors on the EHSI look very strange, as if they do not coincide with the colors that I saw on the pictures of 737 classic EHSI?

Yes, beki, the EHSI is a complete placeholder, still.

All the colours and symbology on the EHSI will change for the final version.

Progress is looking great! I love how the aircraft shakes after touchdown, so realistic!

Writing a hardware interface is fuuuuuunnnnnnnn. ¬_¬

(I have maybe spent a fruitless evening trying to get simple toggle switches to interface with X-Plane nicely.)

Great video! On the subject of hardware interfacing, if you took the dataref that animates the trim wheels and passed it through a smoothing function to a new dataref, and then animated the wheels from that new dataref, it would be a quick and dirty fix to the teleporting-trimwheel thing. Instead of teleporting between two points 45 degrees apart they'll be oscillating gently somewhere in the midpoint. (I assume the trimwheel's linked to a chattering joystick axis in this vid.)

(Does that count as 'looking too closely at the visuals'? Sorry...)

My first complex FS aircraft was the Dreamfleet 737-400 for MSFS2000. I loved that aircraft. Eagerly awaiting this one!

    Hello,

Is it possible to convert this plane to an FSX plane that it will work in Fligh Simulator X?

    @Tom:

    Really?

    Try PMDG 737NG.

This plane here is the equivalent for the X-Plane.

Please, next time you publish videos, it would be highly appriciated if they were at least 1080p (1920x1080 pixels). Anyway, looking good so far.

It's really looking incredible, this will be a great addition to X-Plane. I'm looking forward to it.
